Las Flores del Altiplano
_
Las Flores del Altiplano began in 1996 when there were only 400 alpaca breeders in the United States. We’ve been privileged to be part of the industry’s evolution and improvement.
It was “love at first sight” of sweet-faced alpacas. But combined expertise in business, herd management, a shared interest in green enterprise, right livelihood and responsible stewardship were our motivating factors. The herd began with one pregnant female and, paralleling the industry’s development, has grown and improved over the years. Bearing witness to industry changes, we’re driven by quality, rather than specialization. We breed for enduring characteristics: high standard fleeces, sturdy conformation and health. Planning, record keeping, research, historical knowledge of bloodlines, and continuous education support our decisions. We’re located in Yacolt, Washington, in Clark County, gateway to Washington’s alpaca country. Come for a visit, sit on the deck, watch the animals and ”talk alpaca.” Questions and inquires always welcome, thoughtful responses promised.
